Merry Christmas

Many, many pictures were taken Christmas morning thanks to Dustin!  What others things did we do besides open gifts, you ask?  We ate lots of yummy food, visited a gentleman at a nursing home, went to a special sacrament meeting Christmas morning, went to the Church History Museum and saw pioneer memorabilia, international creches, a children's play zone, a quilting exhibit, and lots of beautiful artwork!  We also took the kids to Boondocks and played Xbox connect with Uncle Danner and Kelsi!  It really is the most wonderful time of the year!
(P.S. Look down further for more new posts.)

The second week of December

The week started with Lucy having what we thought was the stomach flu and then we thought she was better. Monday family home evening we went to an Alex Boye concert, long story short...By the end of the program Jarin was restless, ran down the aisles, Lucy was following to try and get him, but he made his way in front of the stage where the singer came down, and started chasing my kids in a spotlight!  I was trying to get them without stepping into the spotlight, and Dustin was watching from our seats saying, oh, look he's playing with some kids, hey, wait a minute, those are my kids!
Jarin accidentally hit his head on the corner post of the staircase and had to get stitches.  That night Lucy was throwing up again...
Then we all got terribly sick...Lucy had her in-class dance recital and we all managed to attend...still in and out of sickness all week for all of us.  Lucy did a great job even though she wasn't feeling 100%...
And by the end of the week, Dustin and I managed to get away on a date night that he had planned in advance to a dinner theater...It was a good dose of the best medicine...laughter.
These are all happenings that could have made their way into our Christmas card, but alas, they've already been sent...
Jarin was such a good boy during the stitches...he cried lots, but he was also calm and kept saying, 'Are we almost done?'...
He left the doctor's office happy and smiling with his sucker and stickers; He even waved to the doctor and said 'Bye, bye!'...
Honestly, Jarin having stitches was very draining on me...I just couldn't bear listening to him cry.  It was a long day and week...
Oh, and those two teeth, I mentioned in my Christmas card that Lucy was going to lose any day, are gone and she was a toothless wonder for the holiday season!  I'm glad that week is over, and I know that many experience much harder trials so I am grateful for mine!

Wool felted fruit I made for my cornucopia.
Seat cushion my good friend's mom made for my front porch bench.
Christmas wreath I made for my front door.
Lucy and Jarin finger painting the...
biggest birthday card ever for their Daddy!
Pine cone elves I made with Lucy for her friends.
We kept a few...they were too cute!

'The wind storm of 2011'

Dustin wanted this documented and took these pictures all within a half mile of our house.  Winds gusts of up to 85mph in our area.  Lots of roof and tree damage and power outages.  We experienced winds like this when hurricane Katrina came through Mississippi.  It will be talked about for years to come as 'the wind storm of 2011'!
